Capcom has announced that Akuma will be joining Street Fighter 6 on May 22, 2024, and has released a gameplay trailer showcasing the iconic brawler in action.

In addition to Akuma joining the fray, Street Fighter 6 will also receive a major balance patch featuring character for all characters on the roster. Those of you who own the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition or Year 1 Character Pass will receive Akuma as soon as he becomes available.

Akuma originally appeared in Street Fighter II Turbo as a hidden combatant and boss, and in Street Fighter lore is the younger brother of Ken and Ryu’s master, Gouken. He also has an alter-ego known as Shin Akuma, and has appeared in numerous other fighting games, including a guest role in Tekken 7 where he was a crucial part in the game’s story.
Street Fighter 6 was released on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in June 2023. Have a look at our review here.
