Street Fighter IV TGS trailers, Sakura makes the cut

Shou’ouken! Sakura returns to fight another day in the upcoming Capcom fireball-em-up sequel, Street Fighter IV.

The Japanese Schoolgirl/Ryu fan from the Street Fighter Alpha/Rival School series was confirmed in a couple of new trailers, and was also featured in this weeks Famitsu, the Japanese Gaming Bible. There is a gameplay trailer here, which our resident Japanese guy tells us is ‘kawaii desu ne’ (she’s cute) and ‘sugoi’ (awesome).

She joins the already announced home console characters of Akuma, Gouken (Ryu and Ken’s master, Akuma’s brother. Also known as Shenglong for people old enough to know who/what that is), Dan, Cammy, and possibly Fei Long.

Also, here is the new trailer, which only makes the wait for the games release harder. A particular highlight, though, is Dan’s momentary appearance squating on top of a corner post. His expression and overall design seems very reminiscent of his Super Puzzle Fighter II appearance. This is pleasing.

Street Fighter IV is slowly making its way to arcades as we speak, but won’t be on home consoles for at least another two to three months.

The trailers are embedded below.
