Street Fighter head honcho Yoshinori Ono has confirmed that any future updates to Street Fighter x Tekken will arrive via downloadable content, as opposed to a disc-based release.
Chatting with Gematsu, Ono-san revealed that Capcom intends on adopting the same strategy it used with Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition in regards to any possible updates.
Quizzed if he’s worried potential buyers may opt to wait for a new version of SF x Tekken, Ono replied: "If we decide to create a new version of the game, we will go with the Street Fighter IV series route, by providing online update patches for the game.”
"So I would say that you don’t really need to worry about a new version of the game coming out. If we choose to update the game, it will be done in the same fashion as Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition."
Street Fighter x Tekken is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in March 2012.
