Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will get its next major seasonal update tomorrow, which adds a new playable character in Deathstroke, but perhaps the most important addition this update brings is an Offline Mode.
Warner Bros. has not been shy about how poorly Rocksteady’s return to DC has gone, and as it currently stands, tomorrow’s Season 4 update is potentially the final major update the game will receive.
Back in June, WB confirmed that players could count on the game’s “current roadmap” being released, and the roadmap at the time only included up to tomorrow’s Season 4.
So far, nothing more has been announced, which doesn’t exactly point to a Season 5 incoming, or any other major content updates coming.
Frankly, it looks more like Warner Bros can’t wait until this new season is out so it can publicly cut the cord, because if there isn’t any content coming beyond S4, then the cord was cut internally months ago.
The addition of an Offline Mode will allow those who have enjoyed their time with Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League to keep playing after Warner Bros no longer wants to pay to keep the online servers up, since an online connection is currently required to play at all times.
Of course the update will also come with new weapons and location refresh all based on Deathstroke making his appearance, and while there might not be a Season 5, there will be a mid-season refresh to Season 4 that adds more weapons and an eighth episode, so tomorrow’s update isn’t entirely the end.
It’ll be interesting to see though, if tomorrow’s update also arrives with a statement from Rocksteady that Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will no longer receive major content updates after Season 4.
