Supermassive Games, the studio behind the Dark Pictures series and Until Dawn, has announced it’s beginning a redundancy consultation process that it expects will result in as many as 75 job losses.
Speaking on X, the studio revealed that the decision was made in oder to “hep ensure the sustainability of the company.” Here’s the full statement:
We have made the difficult decision to begin a redundancy consultation process, which we anticipate will result in the loss of up to 75 of our colleagues. This is a necessary step to help ensure the sustainability of the company. We know this will be an incredibly difficult time for everyone and our priority throughout the process will be to provide support to all those impacted.
Supermassive Games’ most recent title was The Dark Pictures: Directive 8020, which launched for the PS5 in May 2026. You can read our full review here. The next chapter in The Dark Pictures series was teased during Directive 8020 as has been the case with previous entries in the anthology series, and is believed to be titled The Craven Man – nothing official has been announced yet, however.
