System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition has received a first-look trailer from Nightdive Studios, which has now been confirmed for release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Check out the trailer below.
System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition was created with the goal of reverse engineering the original code to port SS2 to the KEX Engine and made available on next-generation consoles for the first time. Nightdive Studios has also partnered with the systemshock.org community to integrate all the best mods and updates. All cinematics, textures, characters and weapon models have been updated, and the Co-Op Multiplayer has been overhauled to create a seamless experience.
The original System Shock 2 was released in 1999 and developed by Irrational Games and Looking Glass Studios, with future BioShock mastermind Ken Levine serving as the primary designer. System Shock 2 features a cyberpunk-influenced depiction of the year 2114, and takes place on a board a starship that has been devastated by the outbreak of a genetic infection.
System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition has yet to attract a release date.
