Spotted by Gematsu, a rating from the Taiwanese rating board seems to reveal that a game based on the popular Death Note franchise is coming to PS5 and PS4.
Bandai Namco is currently listed as the publisher, and while Gematsu notes that the direct translating from Traditional Chinese notes the title as Death Note: Shadow Mission, it puts forth Death Note: Killer Within, a title that was trademarked by Shueisha earlier this year as the potential English title.
That’s about all that’s known about the game so far, but the idea of a Death Note game is an exciting prospect for fans of the franchise.
The last time there was a proper Death Note game was all the way back in 2008 and it was a Nintendo DS release.
It’ll be interesting to see what this game is, if it’s potentially another strategy game or something more narrative-focused. Whatever the case, it’s good for fans to know there’s something coming.
