Surgent Studios, the developer of Tales of Kenzera, has revealed that it is working on a new ‘short horror’ title and is teaming up with Palworld publisher Pocketpair on the project.
While details are thin on the ground right now, we know that the game won’t be related to Tales of Kanzera or Project Use, the latter of which is also in development at the company. The horror title is the first project to be published by Pocketpair, having just launched its publishing label.

Abubakar Salim, CEO of Surgent Studios (Assassin’s Creed Origins fans will also know him as the voice of protagonist Bayek of Siwa), commented:
Both Surgent and Pocketpair are well-versed in taking risks. We noticed a pattern in the entertainment industry, and Pocketpair has given us the opportunity to make a horror game about it. It will be short and weird, and we think players will be interested in what we have to say. We’re still in earnest conversation about further projects set in the Tales of Kenzera universe, but this will be a standalone piece: a mile marker between where we’ve come from and where we’re going.
Back in October last year, Surgent Studios revealed that its development team were on notice for redundancy while it attempted to secure funding for a new project.
