Shadow of the Colossus fans will have something to cheer about in the near future, with Sony’s Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida confirming the long-rumoured new Team ICO project will be shown to press and consumers "soon" – ending years of internet speculation and rumour.
Yoshida stated that he "couldn’t tell" if an unveiling will take place at TGS, but that the team had been "working very hard since the release of Shadow of the Colossus, and that we’ll "soon see" what they have in store. Plans for Tokyo have yet to be finalised, so it could still happen under the gaze of Japan’s premier trade show.
“Tokyo’s more focused on consumers so we’re still working on the intricacies,” he stated, teasing the fanbase a little further.
With Fumito Ueda at the helm and a gestation period covering years rather than months, you can almost guarantee it’ll be worth the wait. 2009 is looking rosy.
