Teardown is going to launch on November 15, 2023 and will arrive day one on PS Plus Extra & PS Plus Premium.
Tuxedo Labs revealed on the PlayStation Blog that it’s recommended players start with the story campaign, which features 40 levels packed set to really flex your creative muscles. Here, you’re given a main task — stealing or destroying certain objectives, for example — and accompanying bonus challenges. From here, you must figure out how to get the job done with the tools, weapons and vehicles at your disposal.
Once you’ve gotten the hang of the campaign and explored some of the more structured game modes, you can take on the freeform Sandbox Mode. In Sandbox Mode, you can explore all the maps you’ve unlocked in the campaign without limitations, obliterating them to the ground with every tool in your toolbox. And within Sandbox Mode, you’ll find Creative Mode, which flips the script on Teardown, and offers you the chance to build up. Using all sorts of materials and building tools, you’ll get the opportunity to construct your own buildings, sculptures, foliage, and more – and then, if you wish, destroy that too.
Elsewhere, the studio also revealed the DLC roadmap for Teardown, which begins with Beyond Time Campers at launch. From there, the Season Pass includes Folkrace in Spring 2024, with two more content drops set for release next year.
Teardown is due out on November 15 for PS5.
