Tekken 7, the latest entry in Bandai Namco Games’ venerable fighting game series, hits stores worldwide today for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. And how does the publisher celebrate? By pitting 80s icons Timmy Mallett and Keith Chegwin against each other in a King of the Iron Fist punch-up.
Those of you who are scratching your heads (and to be honest, that’s most probably anyone in the U.S.), Mallett made a name for himself on British radio and children’s TV hit ‘Wacaday’ during the 80s, while Chegwin was a fixture on TV during the same era and continued to appear in popular daytime shows into the 90s and beyond.
Tekken 7 adds a number of new features into the mix, including the Rage Arts technique, which allows players to utilise powerful combos and moves to give them the edge in a losing battle. The Power Crush and Tailspin further complement the bread-and-butter fisticuffs, injecting a little more strategy into the gameplay for veteran players. Tekken 7 also features a dedicated story campaign focusing on the long-running Mishima family feud, which comes to its conclusion after 20 years.
