Tekken 7 trailer confirms Nina Williams return

Namco Bandai has released a new trailer for Tekken 7 confirming the return of series veteran, Nina Williams.

Kitted out in a wedding dress, Nina’s fighting style remains as lethal as always, with the trailer showcasing some meaty combos and bone-crunching grapples. From the look of things, Nina will be added as part of the Fated Retribution expansion in arcades. Check it out below.

Tekken 7 is due out on PlayStation 4 at some point later this year, and will be compatible with Sony’s upcoming PlayStation VR headset. The console version of the hotly anticipated fighting game sequel will be the most complete version of the game to date, so presumably will include everything that Fated Retribution will add.

Namco Bandai has said that the storyline will focus on the conclusion of the long-running Mishima family feud, which encompases the characters of Heihachi and Kazuya. Tekken 7 also introduces Kazumi Mishima for the first time in the franchise’s history, and will include a crossover in the form of Street Fighter’s Akuma.

Tekken recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, having first launched in the arcades back in 1994. The series has remained synonymous with PlayStation ever since, with Tekken 2, Tekken 3, Tekken Tag Tournament, Tekken 4, and Tekken 5 being exclusive to Sony formats. Tekken 3 remains the second best selling fighting game of all time behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

As of March 2015, the franchise has sold over 44 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling fighting game series of all time.
