Tekken 8 Accessibility Options Are Being Tweaked Following Concerns On Potential Dangers

Speaking during the Tekken World Tour 2023 Finals, Katsuhiro Harada has revealed that changes have ben made to the Tekken 8 accessibility features, following criticism last month suggesting that they could be potentially dangerous to some users.

The specific accessibility feature in question is for colourblind users, which presents characters in black and white. However, a number of colourblind user sand accessibility advisors were quick to contact Harada-san on Twitter, noting they can cause migraines and vertigo.

Many people have been talking about the accessibility features in the demo for Tekken 8. Actually, that was just a work in progress, so we’ve actually tweaked that quite a bit to try to address some of the issues and to make sure that it works better for a wider variety of people. So that’s another thing that we’re updating for the retail game, but also were going to update the demo to reflect that as well.

Tekken 8 is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on January 26, 2024.
