Bandai Namco has announced over the weekend during EVO Japan 2026 that Kunimitsu, the next DLC character for Tekken 8, will arrive on May 27, 2026 for owners of the Season 3 Character Pass followed by a general release on June 1.
Kunimitsu was originally featured in the first Tekken game as the sub-boss of Michelle Chang; she’s a thief and an ex-member of the Manji Clan, of which Yoshimitsu belongs to. The character returned for Tekken 2, Tekken Tag Tournament, and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (the latter two being non-canon), while her daughter, also named Kunimitsu, arrived in Tekken 7 as DLC. It’s this version of the character that is returning in Tekken 8.
The character is the first DLC character for Tekken 8 Season 3, with the remainder of the lineup comprised of Bob, Roger and a third, as-yet unknown guest character. Check out Kunimitsu in action below.
Tekken 8 was released for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in January 2024.
