Tekken 8 Director Indicates The Game Won’t Be Short On Single-Player Content & Extra Modes

Katsuhiro Harada, the director of Tekken 8, has all but confirmed on Twitter that the upcoming fighting game sequel won’t be lacking when it comes to single-player content and extra game modes.

The Tekken series overlord, who has been involved with the franchise since the original game and even voiced characters such as Yoshimitsu early on, was quizzed about modes such as Tekken Ball and other extra content for Tekken 8. In response, Harada-san had the following to say:

As I have said before, Tekken has been a pioneer since the 90’s in packaging not only competitive tools, but also single-player playable modes, extra modes, and storylines. I can’t mention the details now, but we’ll be able to tell you more about it before the release date.

Elsewhere, another fan mentioned how single-player content is important to them as they aren’t good at the competitive side of things. Again, Harada mentioned how the overall package is crucial to Tekken 8:

Yeah of course important. We are happy to see the rise of modern esports, but before that, we also very much value the completeness and value of the game as a packaged game.

Tekken 8 just completed the first weekend of its Closed Network Test, with a second lined up for later this week. A release date for the full version of the game has yet to be announced.
