Bandai Namco Games has revealed during its latest earnings call overnight that Tekken 8 has sold two million copies worldwide since its launch on January 26, 2026.
Tekken 8 is the latest entry in the long-running fighting game franchise, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. The original Tekken launch in arcades and later PSOne in 1994, becoming a key title in the launch lineup for Sony’s first console. It also has one of the longest-running stories for a fighting franchise, namely the Mishima family feud.

Tekken 8 introduces a new mechanic known as Heat, which gives players access to a more powerful version of their character one per round for about 15 seconds. In addition, all attacks during Heat inflict chip damage, and it’s possible to regain a portion of health thanks to the recoverable gauge.
