Tekken 8 Update 2.03.02 Out Now, Adjusts Character-Specific Bugs & Improves Ranked Matchmaking

Bandai Namco Games has released a quick Tekken 8 hotfix to address a number of character-specific bugs that came to light following the release of Fahkumram earlier this month. In addition, the Ranked Matchmaking system has been improved so that users have less time to wait for a match. There’s not much else to speak of in the update, as it was only intended as a quick patch; the next major update, 2.04, will not contain any balance changes due to the ongoing tournament scene. Read the full Tekken 8 update 2.03.02 patch notes below.

Impact of the Update

The following changes will take effect in each mode and feature after the update:

DOWNLOADED REPLAYS / MY REPLAY & TIPS
– Replay data created before the update will no longer be playable.

ONLINE REPLAY
– All replay data created before the update will be deleted.

SUPER GHOST BATTLE / GHOST MATCH / Ghost vs Ghost
– The behavior and performance adjustments applied to each character after the update will be reflected in ghost data.
– Ghost data will not be deleted.

The details of the update are as follows:

RANKED MATCH

Adjustment to Matching Specifications
– We have recognized that due to changes in the rank distribution over time since the start of Season 2, players in certain rank ranges are experiencing “longer-than-expected matchmaking times.”
– To alleviate this issue, we will adjust the “internal matchmaking conditions” to shorten the time it takes to expand the search range.
– We will continue to monitor the situation after this adjustment and will further tune and improve matchmaking as necessary.

Playable Characters

Character Move Behavior Fixes and Balance Adjustments
– We have corrected unintended behavior changes introduced in the previous update (Ver.2.03.01), issues that were insufficiently addressed, and bugs that were causing significant disadvantages to players, based on the judgment that early response was necessary.

Future Updates
– No balance adjustments are planned for the next update (Ver.2.04) in August, as several major esports tournaments are scheduled that month.
– From Ver.2.05, scheduled for release in September, the updates will primarily focus on bug fixes and similar improvements.
