Tekken head honcho Katsuhiro Harada has offered his two cents on the recent movie adaptation of Namco’s venerable beat ’em up franchise, describing the straight-to-DVD effort as “terrible.”
Writing on his Twitter account in response a fan bringing up a vital plot element from the movie, Harada stated, "That Hollywood movie is terrible," adding, "We were not able to supervise that movie (It was cruel contract) I’m not interested in that mv."
Harada is currently working on the crossover brawler Tekken x Street Fighter alongside Capcom’s own Street Fighter x Tekken, both of which are due out in 2012 for PS3 and 360.
Tekken is due out on DVD in the UK in September, and stars Jon Foo in the lead role as Jin Kazama, who is out for revenge against the unscrupulous Tekken Corporation for the death of his mother, Jun. The flick also features a host of other familiar faces from the games, including Kazuya (Ian Anthony Dale) and Steve Fox (Luke Goss).
