Free-to-play fighter Tekken Revolution will receive a new character not yet seen in any previous edition of Namco Bandai’s venerable brawler.
The fresh-faced combatant was selected by fans at the San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, and won out of three possible options.
Currently the new fighter only exists in concept form, though Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada revealed to Polygon that Namco has sufficient material to introduce the character – known as Female Vampire – into the game this autumn.
Other options included Shin Kamiya from Tekken: Blood Vengeance and a scantily-clad combatant known as Sexy Female Tekken Force.
Released in June, Tekken Revolution introduces several new concepts to the formula, including the ability to upgrade stats via Skill Points. The ‘Bound’ system first seen in Tekken 6 has been toned down in that it can only be activated by slamming your opponent through a wall or the floor.
Series staples such as Arcade Mode returns, and the Ranked and Player matches once again form the basis of the game’s online component. 16 fighters are available at present, eight of which must be unlocked to get your hands on them.
