Tekken Tag 2, Tales of Xillia 2 fall short of sales targets

Namco Bandai has confirmed that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 fell short of its 1.7 million sales target, with the beat-‘em-up sequel selling 1.5 million copies following its launch last September.

Tekken wasn’t the only game to fail to live up to the company’s expectations, with Tales of Xillia 2 – a Japan-only effort – shifting 500,000 units. Namco had previously forecast sales of 650,000 for the PlayStation 3-exclusive RPG.

Meanwhile, Soul Calibur V has passed the one million milestone, selling 1.05 copies, while Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 notched up sales of one million.

Overall, Namco recorded a 7.3 per cent increase in net sales year-on-year, hitting 487 billion yen (USD 4.8 billion).
