Jamie Ottilie, CEO Telltale Games, has revealed during an interview with IGN that the studio is “actively” thinking about what it’ll do after The Wolf Among Us 2, noting that while another entry in that franchise is possible, it won’t happen “out of the gate.”
We are actively looking at what we’ll do next. We’re working on what we’re calling a sequential slate, right? Instead of going wide, we’re doing things in parallel, one thing in a time. We’ll choose what we’re doing next this year and have it in concept development while we’re finishing up Wolf 2 so we know where we’re moving to when we’re done.
Ottilie added that there’s “quite a few games” for what could be next in line for Telltale Games, but said it “won’t be Wolf 3 out of the gate.” The executive believe there should be “breathing room between sequels,” although did not that the developer would “love to do Wolf 3” at some point. Ottilie went on to say that the studio does “a lot of writing and experimenting on paper” prior to production kicking off, adding they sometimes “write for an IP that we haven’t even talked to the licensor about” just to test the waters.
There are three or four frontrunners in terms of what we’d like to do and there’s a blend in there. There’s some original IP in there. There’s some legacy Telltale stuff in there. There’s some new universes in there and I don’t think we’re ready to make that kind of commitment yet in terms of what’s next, but it’s top of mind for sure.
The Wolf Among Us 2 is scheduled for release in 2027 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
