Terminator: Survivors Has Been Delayed Into 2025, Nacon Studio Milan CEO Says “We’ll Be Back”

Developer Nacon Studio Milan and publisher Nacon announced on Monday that the upcoming open-world survival game Terminator: Survivors that was originally set to arrive later this year has instead been delayed into 2025.

The news came with a statement posted to the game’s official Twitter account, with the team simply admitting that “we need some additional time.”

A game set within the Terminator franchise that emphasizes survival against SkyNet in an open-world setting is, at least on paper, pretty much everything fans of the franchise might want out of a game. There hasn’t been anything like it yet, and with how long the Terminator franchise has been around, expectations are high.

“This deferral of the game’s release was a tough decision to make,” said Marco Ponte, chief executive officer and creative director at Nacon Milan in a press release.

“However we believe that this additional time will enable us to ensure that our vision of the post-apocalyptic world of Terminator meets the expected level of quality. On behalf of the Nacon Studio Milan team, I would like to thank all the players and the fans of the franchise for their enthusiastic reception of Terminator: Survivors.

We are extremely proud to have this opportunity to work on such an iconic franchise as Terminator, and are eager to reveal more of it to you. Thank you for all you’re support…We’ll be back.”

On Twitter, the studio’s statement echoed Ponte’s words, with the studio saying “To realize our vision, and to make sure to deliver the game that fits your expectations, we need some additional time. Thus, we will be pushing the launch to 2025.”
