The second of three new trailers showcasing the horrors that await in Tango Gameworks’ The Evil Within has launched today.
The ‘Fight For Life’ trailer focuses on the enemies of the game, the Haunted, tortured souls who have one goal – “to slaughter without mercy.” In the video we get to see some of the terrifying creatures that relentlessly pursue the game’s main protagonist, detective Sebastian Castellanos, who is on a mission to discover what lies behind the arrival of such evil forces in Crimson City.
Gameplay mixes survival horror themes with stealth and puzzle play, as players scavenge for supplies to aid their survival and attempt to quell the rise of evil with a range of brutal weapons and upgradeable abilities. It’s not just enemies that players need to be afraid of either as Crimson City is full of traps designed to maim and kill. The video showcases some of these potential pitfalls, but also shows ways in which quick-thinking players may be able to use them to their advantage.
Created by Resident Evil developer Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within promises an anxiety-driven journey with unimaginable terror and a real fight for survival. Judging by the latest video, and the previous one, we’re in for thrilling ride.
