The Agency ‘needed a lot of work,’ says SOE boss

John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment, has said that its long-delayed spy romp The Agency is now on track for release in the second half of 2011.

Speaking during a chinwag with the folks at Kotaku, Smedley revealed that the eagerly anticipated MMO “needed a lot of work,” hence the reason it won’t be sneaking on to store shelves just yet.

"There was a moment in time in our company where we looked at our own stuff with a clear eye and saw we have to do better," explained Smedley.

"DC Universe was held for a year-and-a-half from when we wanted to launch it and now I’m very happy with it."

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more on The Agency in the coming weeks and months, so stay tuned to PSU for future updates.
