PlayStation VR launched worldwide on October 13, and from the look of things in the U.K., the virtual reality headset is off to a solid start, with eight of the launch games cracking the country’s Top 40 software chart.
PSVR games crack Top 40, but can’t topple FIFA 17
The highest chart entry for Sony’s new device is PlayStation VR Worlds at no.7, with Until Dawn: Rush of Blood hitting no.9. Of all the launch games, only Hustle Kings failed to crack the Top 40.
Despite the influx of PSVR games however, it wasn’t enough to dethrone FIFA 17, which enjoys its third consecutive week at the summer of the chart. As such, new entry Gears of War 4 had to settle for second place, with fellow newcomer Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration debuting at number five.
Looking beyond the launch lineup, PSVR has a number of high-profile compatible games coming out, such as Final Fantasy 15, Resident Evil 7: biohazard, Robinson: The Journey, Batman: Arkham VR, and more.
