Ubisoft announced prior to its investors call overnight that The Crew 2 is currently in production and will launch at some point during the publisher’s current financial year ending March 31, 2018.
Details on the sequel to the open-world racing title, which hit PS4, PC, and Xbox One back in 2014, are thin on the ground at present, although The Crew 2’s official forum does potentially tease a new direction with the tagline ‘Beyond the road.’ Hopefully we’ll hear more about the game at E3 next month.
The Crew 2 is one of a number of high-profile titles that are scheduled to roll out between now and March 31, joining Assassin’s Creed Origins, Far Cry 5, and South Park: The Fractured But Whole in Ubisoft’s current financial year.
Developed by Ivory Tower and Ubisoft Reflections, The Crew attracted mixed reviews from critics but managed to strike a chord with gamers, shipping over two million copies by January 1, 2015 and attracting five million players as of May last year.
