The Dark Sorcerer represents the ‘minimum’ of what PS4 is capable of

The founder of Quantic Dream has said that the studio’s PlayStation 4 tech demo, The Dark Sorcerer, is but a small taster of what Sony’s next-generation console is capable of.

Speaking to TechRadar (via VG247), David Cage said that the visually-stunning teaser, which was showcased at E3 in June, was cobbled together with just a small team.

“This is basically Beyond’s engine, and we were so excited with what we could achieve. Some people were really impressed with the Dark Sorcerer but this is just the beginning, it’s the minimum quality you can get on the console,” said Cage.

“It was done with a very small team, a very small amount of time and small resources. Now we have a full team and we hope to make something really impressive.”

Quantic Dream released two PlayStation 3-exclusive projects with Heavy Rain (2010) and Beyond: Two Souls (2013), and has confirmed it is working on a PS4 title as of mid-2012.

No details are currently available on the studio’s PS4 title, although we’ll be sure to keep you posted. In the meantime, read our review of Beyond: Two Souls here.
