The Division PS4 open beta preload and release date details

Tom Clancy’s The Division open beta phase on PlayStation 4 will begin on February 19, 2016.

The beta will be available to all PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC owners for three days, February 19-21, and the beta client can be downloaded in advance on February 16.

The Division open beta will feature all of the content from the recent closed beta phase, and will also include a new story mission. For partaking in the beta, Ubisoft is offering players a special in-game award that can be redeemed when the full game launches on March 8, 2016.

To accompany the news, Ubisoft has released a new trailer entitled ‘Factions’ which takes a look at some of the deadly enemies we’ll encounter in the online, open-world third-person shooter.

The Division is a collaborative effort between Ubisoft’s Massive, Reflections, and Annecy studios alongside Red Storm Entertainment, and was originally announced at E3 2013. The action takes place in New York City in the midst of a mysterious pandemic, which cripples the infrastructure of the United States in five days. Players control a member of the hastily-assembled Strategic Homeland Division (SHD), an organisation that works under the direct orders of the President to regain control and prevent the collapse of civilisation by whatever means necessary.
