According to the LinkedIn profile of Oleski Moskovchenko, Technical Art Director for Virtuous, the company is working on an unannounced remake powered by Unreal Engine 5, which is heavily speculated to be the rumoured The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake.
The LinkedIn page reveals that he is working on an “unannounced UE5 PS5/XBX/PC remake.” While this doesn’t confirm The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake is in the works, chatter about the game has been gathering pace lately. The project was originally mentioned in the midst of the FTC investigation of Microsoft’s then-planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard, although it was listed for release in the 2022 fiscal year.

More recently, YouTuber Extas1s claimed that the remake is set to be announced this month during an Xbox Direct event, and is indeed in the works at Virtuous using UE5 — this certainly lends today’s report more credence, but we’ll have to wait for an official announcement.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was originally released for PC and Xbox 360 in 2006, and arrived on the PS3 the following year. Two expansions were released for the game, namely Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles. Its voice cast also featured some notable inclusions in the form of Sean Bean and Patrick Stewart.
