The Elder Scrolls Online for PS4 doesn’t need a CD key

The PS4 and Xbox One versions of upcoming fantasy-RPG, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, does not require a CD key, Bethesda has revealed.

The comments come following an erroneous forum post that suggested otherwise. However, Bethesda has now cleared things up, and confirmed that gamers will be able to trade the game in.

"The physical console version of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited does not require a one-time game code, as with any other boxed PS4 / Xbox One game only the game disc is needed for verification," said the studio. "Any previous statements counter to this were incorrect."

The Elder Scrolls Online is due out in June for PS4 and Xbox One, and will require players to download a day-one patch. Check out the latest gameplay footage here.
