The Evil Within 2 is getting a PS4 Pro patch

Bethesda has announced that it will be releasing a PS4 Pro update for its survival horror sequel, The Evil Within 2.

The Evil Within 2 PS4 Pro support on its way!

The Tango Gameworks-developed title was released last Friday. However, at the time only an Xbox One X update was confirmed for the game, leaving many to question why PS4 Pro owners were being left out.

That’s not to say the game doesn’t look and run just fine on a regular PS4. Digital Foundry discovered this for themselves during a recent report, observing how the game’s visuals are a significant step up over its predecessor.

Fortunately, the game will now benefit from PS4 Pro-specific advancements, as confirmed by Bethesda in a new update.

We’re working on an update for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X”, said the publisher. “When we have more information, we’ll happily update you. Thanks!”

The Evil Within 2 is now available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The game picks up three years after the events of the original game, and sees former detective Sebastian Castellanos diving into the twisted STEM world once again to rescue his daughter.

Shinji Mikami’s horror sequel features a number of enhancements over the first Evil Within. Chiefly, players can now explore semi-open world environments to scavenge for supplies, and there’s a new upgrade system in place allowing you to customise Seb and forge weapons.

Sadly, the game sold around 75 percent less than the 2014 original, although still managed to enter the UK Charts at number three.
