The Finals Open Beta Attracted 7.5 Million Players

Embark Studios has announced that The Finals Open Beta was played by an impressive 7.5 million players.

In case you missed it, The Finals Open Beta launched on October 26, 2023 and ran until yesterday across PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The Open Beta also supported Cross-Play, so you weren’t just limited to matching with people on the same console as you.

The Finals has yet to attract a concrete release date, with the game revolves around a televised virtual combat game show, with Embark Studios revealing it took inspiration from the likes of The Hunger Games and Gladiator.

The primary offering is Cashout, where players form teams of three and compete to tackle objective including opening vaults and transporting them to a cash-out location. The win is given to the team who has gained the most coins — obtained from defeated players — that is determined by the cast-out value and other factors including points, eliminations, assist, deaths, review and objectives.
