Following news of Electronic Arts’ decision to push the release of The Godfather II back to the 2010 fiscal year, the publisher today announced that the mobster sequel will be released in North America on April 7, 2009.
A European launch will follow a few days later on April 10. The game was originally pencilled in for release this month, before it was decided to postpone the launch due to competitive market conditions.
Set in the 1960’s, the game has players expanding their crime empire throughout New York, Cuba and Florida via extortion, defeating rival gangs and various other illegal activities. Players will be required to fight alongside a handpicked crew comprised of various family members, each one possessing their own unique abilities, including demolitions, arson, engineering and first-aid.
