The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy Creator ‘Not Considering’ PS5 Version Right Now

Kazutaka Kodaka, the creator of 2025’s The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, has revealed during an interview with RPG site that he is “not considering” a PS5 port of the critically acclaimed title right now.

For those unaware, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy was published by Sony subsidiary Aniplex, a company that operates under the Sony Music Entertainment label and is independent of PlayStation. Touching on this, Kodaka-san revealed how much input the studio had on the project.

We entrusted Aniplex with all promotion and publishing, and each put up half the funding, forming a strong partnership. They also handled communication with overseas publishers. We chose them because they understood our style and tried to spread it widely.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy was developed by Too Kyo Games and was released for PC and Nintendo Switch in April 2025. The game sees players taking control of Takumi Summon, a high school student, who is a resident of the Tokyo Residential Complex underground. When the complex s attacked, he joins the school known as Last Defense Academy and fights back, defending the school for 100 days. After this point, you can re-try previous events in the game, thus changing the narrative.

The game combines elements of visual novel story progression mixed with tactical RPG mechanics, with players facing off against waves of enemies across 100 in-game days alongside 14 other students within the Last Defense Academy.
