SNK has just released The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match on PS4 out of nowhere, bringing the game back and also adding a suite of online features to the experience.
The game is available now on the PlayStation Store and costs $14.99/£12.99. The suite of online features includes rollback netcode, which helps to reduce lag, and a number of quality of life changes, such as the ability to rewatch online matches, enable win/loss counters, and cooldowns to prevent rematching.
Rank Match and Player Match are available for those who want to play online with a roster of 66 playable characters. Every screen has also been overhauled, with a number of special moves added and returning. Desperation Movies can now be cancelled at any time as well, via the MAX mode system in-game. A physical release will come this Spring from Limited Run Games in North America and Pix’n Love in Europe.
