SNK has announced that The King of Fighters XV Season 2 will kick off in January 2023 with the release of Shingo Yabuki as a new playable character for the critically acclaimed fighting game sequel.
The studio announced that the new character will be joined by a balance update for The King of Fighters XV, and will be followed by Kim Kaphwan and a Cross-Play Open Beta test in Spring 2023. Further characters and updates are planned to rollout at a later date.

The King of Fighters franchise is one of the longest-running fighting game series still going, having launched back in 1994. The franchise has appeared on countless platforms, including Arcade, NeoGeo, Saturn, Dreamcast, PSOne, PS2, Game Boy, Xbox 360, PC, iOS and Android among others.
