Naughty Dog‘s critically acclaimed horror epic The Last of Us has secured a place in the World Video Game Hall of Fame.
The post-apocalyptic horror title will join the likes of Age of Empires, Angry Birds, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, while this year’s inductees feature Computer Space, Barbie Fashion Designer and Wii Sports.
The Last of Us was originally released for the PS3 back in June 2013, and was later remastered for the PS4 about a year later. Fast-forward to September last year, and Naughty Dog overhauled the horror classic for PS5 with numerous bells and whistles as The Last of Us Part 1.
The Last of Us takes place 20 years following an outbreak of cordyceps, a fungal infection that attaches itself to the brain of its host and transforms them into mindless savages. The game focuses on survivors Joel and Ellie as they trek across the US while battling infected and human foes alike.
