Naughty Dog is continuing to grow its team for the upcoming The Last of Us multiplayer title, with the company snapping up Anders Howard, the former battle pass designer on Epic Games’ Fortnite.
Howard confirmed the news on Twitter with a snapshot of him at the offices of the Sony-owned, Santa Monica-based development studio, captioned with “hell yeah!” According to his LinkedIn profile, Howard joined Naughty Dog only this month as a principal monetisation designer.
Having previously served at Ubisoft Stockholm, Howard also put seven years with Epic Games where he “helped form the core of battle pass progression strategy” and was involved with no less than 12 seasons of content via this feature. In addition, he also worked on Rocket League and Fall Guys’ battle pass progression.

We don’t have confirmation that Howard is actually working on The Last of Us multiplayer, but it’s not hard to imagine given his past experiences.
As for the game itself, The Last of Us multiplayer is a standalone version of the Factions online mode seen in the original game, albeit on a much grander scale. The game will be set in a ‘dense city with lots of detail,’ and will feature an all-new story based in the post-apocalyptic world.
The Last of Us multiplayer has yet to attract a release date.
