The Last Of Us Part 2 Dev Naughty Dog Accused By Musician Of Stealing Song Arrangements For TV Ad

Naughty Dog, the developer behind The Last of Us Part 2, has been accused by Seattle-based musician Lotte Kestner of pinching elements of her arrangement of ‘True Faith’ by No Order, which was used in the latest TV commercial for the PS4 sequel.

Kestner took to Twitter to voice her disappointment over the situation. If you’re interested, you can listen to her version of the song here.

Hey are you aware that the true faith cover you put in your last of us 2 trailer is a replica of my cover that came out 10 yrs ago? I wrote original parts not in the original song that are copied exactly by whoever covered it. I am heartbroken.

Right now there appears to be no response from Naughty Dog or Sony about the situation, but that may change soon enough. Still, the developer probably had little input in regards to the commercial itself; Sony’s marketing folk likely handled the lion’s share of it.

The Last of Us Part 2 is pencilled in for release on June, exclusively for PS4.
