Naughty Dog‘s The Last of Us: Part 2 has been a massive success both critically and commercially, and it’s just added another string its bow over six months from release. Yep, the game has now earned more Game of the Year awards than any other video game, beating out The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the process.
That’s according to tracking website Game Awards, which reveals that the critically acclaimed sequel has notched up 169 and 92 awards for media outlets and readers’ choice, respectively. That’s a whopping 261 awards at the time of writing. Blimey!
That’s not all, either. The original game has also snapped up a total of 254 awards (196 from media outlets and 58 from readers’ choice), bringing the franchise’s total to well over 500. It was recently revealed that The Last of Us Part 2 had grabbed a record-breaking 24 nominations from the annual NAVGTR Awards.
