The Last of Us scoops 10 BAFTA nominations

The British Academy of Film and Television has announced that PlayStation 3-exclusive action-adventure title The Last of Us has notched up 10 BAFTA nominations.

The Naughty Dog post-apocalyptic outing leads a pack of the biggest games from last year, including Grand Theft Auto V (nine nominations), Tearaway (eight nominations), while the likes of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, BioShock: Infinite, Super Mario 3D World, The Stanley Parable and Papers, Please received four nominations each.

The Last of Us wasn’t the only PlayStation exclusive that picked up a nomination. Beyond: Two Souls and Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch were also recognized, while third-party heavies such as Tomb Raider and Battlefield 4 got nods, too.

The BAFTA Game Awards will be hosted by celebrity gamer and comedian Dara ‘O Briain for the sixth year in a row, and takes place on March 12 at the Tobacco Dock, London.

The ceremony will also be streamed on Twitch, while if you fancy attending, pick up a ticket via the official site here.
