Casey Bloys, CEO and Chairman of HBO and Max Content, has revealed during a presentation overnight that The Last of Us Season 2 will premiere in Spring 2025. Previously, it was confirmed that the highly anticipated second season of the show would launch at some point in the first half of the year, but an exact window was not revealed until now.
The Last of Us Season 2 is going to be based off The Last of Us Part II, or at least a portion of it, as it was previously confirmed by showrunner Craig Main that the events of that game will have to be told across more than one seasons of the TV series.

As with the video game, The Last of Us Season 2 will introduce the character of Abby Anderson, who is played by Kaitlyn Dever. Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal will be reprising their roles as Ellie and Joel, respectively, from the first season of The Last of Us. Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann said that fans can expect season two to feature a number of story changes similar to what showrunners did with the first season.
The Last of Us Season 1 is now available to purchase on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K.
