It’s been a while since we heard much about Bethesda’s upcoming first-person shooter, Brink. Today we have some new information and screens to pass your way.
As you probably know, Brink features single-player, co-op, and multiplayer action combined into one seamless experience. This allows you to develop your character alone, with friends, or fighting against others online. The game is set on the Ark, a man-made floating city that’s on the brink (get it?) of civil war. This “green” habitat is essentially required living as the Earth’s oceans have risen so rapidly that life on the ground is virtually non-existent.
Brink features advanced player customization with near-endless combinations of looks for your character. Progressing through the game will open up even more options to customize your build. With this character, you’ll choose to fight as a member of the Resistance or the Security, and then you can take your character online to play co-op or competitively against other players. Bethesda is really emphasizing that the different modes of Brink, online and offline, will allow you to seamlessly move between single player campaign, and online modes where you can play competitively with up to 16 players
The game will use standard shooter controls, but it will also add in the new SMART button. The SMART button dynamically evaluates where you’re trying to get to, and makes it happen.
More screens are available here, and you can look for the game on PS3 and Xbox 360 coming this fall.
