The PS5 Pro was finally revealed today, and while we got a lot of answers regarding the mid-gen refresh console like the price and a bit about what sets it apart from the PS5 itself.
Following the reveal presentation, a few previews from select outlets getting hands-on time with the PS5 Pro revealed even more information about the coming hardware upgrade.
Like the fact that the PS5 Pro will support both 8K resolutions and variable refresh rates (VRR). The news was confirmed in a preview from CNET, where the author spoke about playing games in 8K, something that they admit is quite a niche thing in the first place.
What’s more common though is people having TV sets that enable refresh rates higher than 60FPS, generally up to 120FPS. According to Cerny more than “25%” of players who own a PS5 also own a TV that can support 120FPS.
Which is not at all an insignificant number of players, which further outlines who this mid-gen refresh console might be for.
