The PS5 Ships With A HDMI 2.1 Cable

Following the onslaught of PS5 unboxing videos earlier today, it’s now been confirmed that Sony’s next-generation console will ship with a HMDI 2.1 cable as expected.

GamePro has confirmed with Sony that a HDMI 2.1 cable does indeed ship with the PS5. The full quote states:

“At this point we want to correct the spread of the misinformation regarding the HDMI 2.1 cable of the PS5. As Sony confirmed, it is an HDMI 2.1 cable.”

The PS5 is slated for release in the US and UK on November 12 and November 19, respectively, and will arrive as a standard disc-based model and Digital-Only Edition.

Sony’s new console will support a range of technical muscle in the hood, including an SSD for ultra-fast load times, while the DualSense controller includes haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to further immerse players in their games.

The PS5 will launch with a number of first-party titles including Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon’s Souls remake, plus third-party games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, DiRT 5, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition and more.
