The Skate Closed Alpha Now Has Microtransactions Using San Van Bucks Currency

Microstransactions have now been implemented into the Skate Closed Alpha by Electronic Arts, after the publishing behemoth teased an “epic gameplay update” alongside additional “existing” updates for the skateboarding title.

Players will now be able to use San Van Bucks as an in-game currency to spend on cosmetic items, as detailed in the full statement from developer Full Circle.

To ensure we achieve these goals at Early Access we have enabled the option to purchase and use virtual currency (San Van Bucks) in our ongoing Closed Alpha playtest. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated in providing a great experience at Early Access launch.

Full Circle notes that your account progress might be reset at various points due to Skate still being in a play testing phase, and prior to Early Access release will be fully reset. As such, any purchases you make during this time will be converted into San Van Bucks at the start of the Early Access period.

Skate had been in a lengthy playtesting phase for PC only up until earlier this year, at which point Full Circle expanded the teaser to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.EA has yet to announce a release date for Skate, but it is expected to launch at some point this year and will be free-to-play across PC and consoles.
