The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition Will Come To PS4 This September

The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition will launch on PS4 this September 6, 2022.

After it was revealed that the rights for the game were returned to director Dylan Cuthbert, and that the franchise has been coming back, fans have been ecstatic.

Now, we finally have a release date for the long-awaited return, as it was revealed as part of the PlayStation Blog’s spotlight on seven different indie titles today.

Almost serendipitously, the release date of September 6 will mark six years since the game first launched.

On the PlayStation Blog, Cuthbert provided an in-depth preview of the game, welcoming new players who may have missed out on the original game to the void, and old players back.

You can check out the gameplay trailer showcased with the announcement for yourself, here.

Cuthbert talks about new traversal mechanics that old players will notice like grappling hooks, new game mechanics like Monoliths, but most importantly, The Tomorrow Children will, in this edition, be playable offline.

“Since the original game was removed from the store, I’ve been asked over and over to find a way to make The Tomorrow Children playable offline.” said Cuthbert.

“I completely understand the desire to preserve your town indefinitely and today I can finally confirm that we’ve made this a possibility.”

Your solo journeys into the void will be accompanied by AI, who will help repair buildings, carry resources, defend the town, and basically help you along the way.

For long time fans of the game, it is great to know that they will be able to continue having access to the worlds they build within the game.

More exciting though of course, is the fact that its launch date is only a few months away.
