The developer behind the critically-acclaimed The Walking Dead video game has expressed interest in making a James Bond title.
Speaking during an interview with OXM, (via Eurogamer) Kevin Bruner, President and co-founder of TellTale Games, said if he were to develop a Bond game, he’d focus on toning down the excessive violence typically attributed to video game adaptations starring the British spy.
"I’m a giant James Bond fan and I’m always frustrated by games that make him a mass murderer," said Bruner. "He’s a super-spy, and that’s a different skillset. The films make him less of a mass murderer, and there’s not much killing in the books – more spying and intrigue."
Elsewhere, CEO Dan Connors remained cautious on the prospect of TellTale developing a new IP.
"I think we’re looking more at ‘Can we engage some great storytelling mind to come in and work with us on something and make it not just a game franchise, but a full-on entertainment franchise with comics or a TV show and such and build it all together at once?’" said Connors. "We really see that as the next thing that’s gonna happen."
TellTale is currently working on the second season of The Walking Dead, with Episode 1: All That Remains, now available to download for PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE.
