The disc-based release of Telltale Games’ critically-acclaimed The Walking Dead will be released in the U.K. on May 10.
Avanquest Software has picked publishing rights for the episodic horror-adventure games, which were previously only available digitally on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE.
All five episodes in the series will be available to purchase for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC formats on a single disc. The bundle was previously released in North America in December 2012.
“We are delighted to have secured the distribution agreement for The Walking Dead, in what will be our first ever games release for PS3 and Xbox 360. To be working with such a high-profile, award-winning game is a huge achievement and testament to our growing reputation as one of the UK’s leading games publishers. We’ve had hugely positive feedback from retailers and expect to see great support for the product,” commented Avanquest Software’s European Games Director, Simon Reynolds.
Telltale Games representative U&I Entertainment’s Shane Dodson added: “We partnered with Avanquest on The Walking Dead due to their strong retail reach and proven ability to work titles hard throughout their full life.”
The Walking Dead picked up a multitude of awards following its staggered release last year, including the prestigious Game of the Year gong. Check out PSU.com’s coverage of each episode via our Walking Dead hub.
