The third season of Telltale Games’ critically acclaimed The Walking Dead video game series will premiere in fall 2016.
The developer took to Twitter to confirm the news earlier today, where it also announced that Batman: The Telltale Series will roll out this summer. Both titles are heavily rumored to appear at E3 next week.
No further details were announced during the Tweet, although hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to find out more.
Who will return with Clementine for The Walking Dead Season 3?
The Walking Dead Season 3 was confirmed earlier this year, although right now it’s unknown what character(s) we will be playing as. Obviously, protagonists have shifted between the games, with Lee and Clementine serving as the playable characters for Season One and Season Two, respectively.
Previously, Telltale confirmed that Clementine will return in some capacity for Season 3, although that doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll be the main character. The studio also said we can expect more comic book material to be present in the game.
The Walking Dead Season One was released back in 2012 and scooped up numerous Game of the Year awards, and received universal praise for its gut-wrenching choices that players were required to make. Telltale supported it with the expansion 400 Days.
Season Two of The Walking Dead turned up in 2014 and proved equally as popular as its predecessor, introducing a wealth of new characters and choices for players to tackle. Both seasons were also brought to PlayStation in 2014.
